It adjoins the Dowrog Common which is a National Trust Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI). So be sure to keep your eyes open for the neighbours who come in the form of pheasants, foxes, badgers, cuckoos, cows and wild duck!
The cottage was converted with thought given to those who may be less physically able, with a ramp in the main doorway and no steps.

Originally the school-master's house, this Tudor-Gothic style Grade II listed building which is circa 1851 has retained many original features.
Located in the tiny hamlet of Llanrhian, it is within walking distance of the beautiful golden sandy beach of Traethllyfn and the picturesque fishing harbour of Porthgain, with its friendly pub and excellent fish restaurant. Porthgain abounds in local history being an old brick-working village, the remains of old workings and small gauge tram way can be seen from the coast path, which gives access to numerous beaches and stunning walks.
The original school-room, which is attached to the house, is occasionally used as the local community hall but in no way interferes with the private use of the property.
