This is a beautiful traditional Welsh Cottage that is approximately 200 years old.It has charactaristic low cielings with exposed beams. The cielings of the bedrooms follow the pitch of the roof and have small upstairs windows typical of this sort of building. The cottage and out buildings are of local stone and grouped around a large open lawned area which is bordered by a farm lane on one side and a quiet country road at the front. Being only 3 miles from the smallest city~ of St.Davids, it is ideal for touring or a peaceful and relaxing holiday.

It adjoins the Dowrog Common, which is a National Trust Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI). This ensures that nothing un-neighbourly occurs to spoil the stunning location. In fact most of the neighbours come in the form of pheasants, foxes, badgers, cuckoos, cows and wild duck!! The old stone barns at Hendre ceased to be used for agricultural purposes several years ago and the farmyard is now a peaceful area in which to enjoy some of the most outstanding views in Pembrokeshire. Just one of these barns that (delete) has been converted to form May Cottage. The high quality conversion has been carried out with the less physically able in mind; there is a ramp in the main doorway and no steps.

St. Davids is the smallest cathedral ‘city’ in Britain but is not much bigger than a village...
It has the magnificent 12th century Cathedral, Bishop’s Palace and Cathedral Close with many small interesting shops, a supermarket, post office, galleries, restaurants, pubs, a 20 metre indoor heated public swimming pool and a large tourist information centre.

In 2008, the Pembrokeshire Landscape Gallery opened next to the Tourist Information Centre.
