Operation Recuperation

We’re supporting the Operation Recuperation campaign to help give frontline healthcare workers a free holiday in picturesque South West Wales.

The team at St Brides Bay Cottages are getting behind this worthwhile initiative thanks to the generosity of our kind-hearted cottage owners. Like us, they want to show their appreciation for the healthcare professionals who are risking their lives to keep us safe during the coronavirus pandemic.

By gifting stays in beautiful Pembrokeshire to these dedicated workers, we’ll be helping them to recover from the fight against COVID-19, once the virus restrictions have been lifted.

St Brides Bay – the perfect place to recuperate

Rachel Sherwood, who launched Operation Recuperation, is thrilled we’re joining the campaign.

She said: “A huge thank you to St Brides Bay Cottages for proudly supporting Operation Recuperation and to the cottage owners who have donated stays in this stunning part of Wales, despite very challenging times.

“St Brides Bay, on the Pembrokeshire coast, looks like the perfect place for our frontline healthcare providers to recuperate after they’ve won the fight against COVID-19.

“Sometime in the not-too-distant future, a handful of nominated staff will be enjoying long clifftop walks, fresh seafood, lazy days on the beach and cosy evenings in sea-view cottages.

“My heartfelt thanks go out to all of you.”

Helping healthcare workers

We’ve also received messages of support from you – our loyal guests, who are delighted we’re getting involved in this deserving cause.

In one heartfelt message, a regular customer wrote: “I work for the NHS and my sons are in the Army. However, my beautiful daughter is a specialist nursing sister in London. On Monday she moves from the intensive cardiac theatres to the intensive care units, to nurse the COVID-19 patients on ventilators.

“We are so proud of her, as well as fearful too, and we feel that when this is over, for her to be able to come and stay in her beloved favourite place in the world, to decompress and just breathe again, would be such a gift from us.

“Due to the pressures of the teams, we cannot book anything for her yet but for us to come as a family, God willing, later in the year, would be such a blessing.”

Don’t cancel, just delay

And don’t forget, we’ve made it easy for you to rearrange your self-catering break in St Brides Bay because of measures introduced to minimise the spread of the virus and protect the NHS.

If you’ve booked a cottage holiday with us that is due to take place in the coming weeks or months, you can easily postpone, instead of cancelling.

Contact our friendly team at or 01437 720027 to rearrange your dates. But please bear with us at this busy time.
